Professional Carpentry Across the Midlands
We're a Midlands-based carpentry contractor providing professional carpentry and joinery services throughout the West Midlands and surrounding areas.
Incorporated in 2019, we take on all aspects of carpentry — from first and second fix work through to substantial timber roof structures and full carpentry packages for new-build homes. Our work spans new-build developments, extensions, renovations, commercial projects and residential improvements.
JIM Carpentry is owned and run by Jamie Ellis, Ian Lakin and Matthew Hollis. Ian brings more than 30 years of hands-on carpentry experience to the business, with Jamie and Matthew each adding over 15 years working alongside him — over 60 years of first-hand experience within the team.

Jamie Ellis
Director / Carpenter
Jamie is one of the owners and directors behind JIM Carpentry Ltd and is involved in delivering the company's carpentry projects across the Midlands.
Ian Lakin
Director / Carpenter
Ian brings more than 30 years of hands-on carpentry experience to JIM Carpentry, providing extensive practical knowledge across traditional carpentry, structural timber work, roof construction and modern residential projects. He has since taken on and passed those skills on to Jamie and Matt, training them both up as apprentices — and both now boast over 15 years of carpentry expertise each.
Matthew Hollis
Director / Carpenter
Matthew has been a director of JIM Carpentry Ltd since the company was incorporated in 2019 and works within the business delivering professional carpentry projects.
Gemma
Office Administrator
Gemma brings over 15 years of office and administration experience to the JIM Carpentry team. She looks after the day-to-day running of the office — handling invoices, wages and general administration — keeping everything organised behind the scenes so the team can focus on delivering the work.
